FAQ

When mounting clamps or separators, how much distance should there be from heat sources?
As a rule, there should be about a 1/2" minimum air gap between the clamp / separator and any heat source such as headers or exhaust pipes.  They are unconditionally warranted not to melt or distort if this minimum gap is utilized.  Made For You Products T-Clamps® and Smoothie® wire loom separators are on board everything from Funny Cars and Top Fuel dragsters to Formula 1, CART, Off Road, and Sprint cars.

What is the best method to mount the clamps?
All of our T-Clamps come with Stainless Steel mounting hardware.  In most cases, this is the preferred method of attachment.   Drilling and tapping presents a strong, lasting attachment point.  However, they have been attached successfully with pop rivets on competition applications.

Can I buy directly from Made For You Products?
We appreciate the support and interest in our products shown by the many street rod and high performance enthusiasts that use our product.  However, we prefer that you patronize your local dealer or favorite source of purchasing aftermarket products.  We work closely with our established network of distributors throughout the U.S. and other countries to ensure that they receive prompt shipment of Made For You Products for their customers.  They have worked hard to build a business and have made an investment in our product line.  Therefore, we normally will refer all consumer inquiries to our dealers.  See the Dealer Locator section on our website for your nearest dealer.  If you live in an area without a dealer, contact us directly for assistance.  In addition, many of these dealers attend the numerous street rod shows around the country with Made For You Products for sale in their booths.

I would like to purchase additional wire loom separator components.  Are they available?
Yes.  If you are working on a project and need to add more of any particular size separator or bracket than is included in the kit, or if you lose a part, we do sell these individually.  Call our Customer Service department at (760) 868-6962, M-F, 8-4PM Pacific Time.  Please have a VISA or MasterCard available and we will ship the parts immediately.

I have a Hitch-Lite on my late model truck and it is flashing with the turn signals !
On some late model trucks, especially Dodge vehicles, due to the internal wiring in the vehicle, it is necessary to hook the 2 wires from the Hitch-Lite as follows: one wire to a ground, and the other to the 3rd brake lead.  This requires trimming off the flat 2-place connector and attaching the wires directly to the ground and 3rd brake light.
